Why This Land Matters 2.12 acres on Da Gama Street — where two sides of JBay meet, and a bridge is waiting to be built. A Town on the Rise Jeffreys Bay grew from a small fishing village into a globally known surf town, home to Supertubes, one of the best waves on earth. Today it is genuinely booming: over R2 billion in new building plans in a single recent year, and one of the fastest-growing property markets in the country. The land we are securing sits right where the beachfront and downtown meet Pellsrus — a natural bridge, not just a building site. Two Realities, Side by Side That growth has not reached everyone. Minutes from the new developments, the need is real — and it is the reason a bridge is needed here.
~27% youth unemployment in the community.
~4 000 families on the municipal housing waiting list.
<R3 200 a month is what thousands of households live on.
A Son Who Came Home Pastor CJay grew up in Jeffreys Bay in hard circumstances and found hope through a local children’s ministry. Twenty-five years later, he came home — planting Wave Point Church (founded 2019, with locations in Jeffreys Bay and St Francis Bay) and starting the Wave Point Foundation, which runs surf therapy, education support and mentorship for young people from Pellsrus and Oceanview.
Our Vision

A place where people belong, connect with Jesus, and are empowered to change their world.

This land does not change that vision — it makes room for more of the town to be part of it. The window is short, just three months, because the opportunity is real and time-bound. Land like this, in a place like this, does not come up twice.

Good to Know Questions, answered
How will the funds be used? Every rand goes toward Phase I — purchasing the 2.12-acre site and the costs of transferring it into ownership. This campaign funds the land only.
Will I receive a receipt for my gift? Yes — Wave Point can issue a receipt for your records. Email us if you need anything specific for your giving.
What happens if we don’t reach the goal in time? We’re believing we’ll get there. If circumstances change, the donations will be kept in the Wave Point Sanctuary building fund.
What is Phase II? Once the land is secured, Phase II is the design and construction of the Sanctuary itself — a permanent home with worship space, ministry areas, education classrooms, a pump track and play areas for kids, and outreach facilities for both Wave Point Church and the Wave Point Foundation. That is a future project, not part of this campaign’s ask.
